CVE-2016-2270

CVSS v3.1

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Xen versions 4.6.x and earlier
Description The issue exists due to insufficient input validation in the Xen hypervisor. Exploitation of this issue may allow a local attacker to cause a denial of service, resulting in a host reboot, by affecting multiple mappings of MMIO pages with different cachability settings.
Recommendations For Xen versions 4.6.x and earlier, consider restricting access to the MMIO page mapping functionality as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
