Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in the graphite2::TtfUtil::CmapSubtable12Lookup function, located in TtfUtil.cpp, which is part of the Graphite 2 rendering tool used in Mozilla Firefox and Firefox ESR. This can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially crafted Graphite smart font, potentially leading to a denial of service or other unspecified impacts.
Recommendations
For Graphite 2 versions prior to 1.3.6, update to version 1.3.6 or later.
For Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 45.0, update to version 45.0 or later.
For Firefox ESR versions 38.x prior to 38.7, update to version 38.7 or later.
