CVE-2016-2571

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Squid versions 3.x through 3.5.14 Squid versions 4.x through 4.0.6
Description The issue allows remote HTTP servers to cause a denial of service through a malformed response, resulting in an assertion failure and daemon exit. This occurs due to insufficient input validation in the http.cc component of the Squid proxy server.
Recommendations For Squid versions 3.x through 3.5.14, update to version 3.5.15 or later. For Squid versions 4.x through 4.0.6, update to version 4.0.7 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the http.cc component until a patch is available.
