Description
The issue is related to the MediaTek Wi-Fi kernel driver in Android, which has inadequate access control. This allows attackers to gain privileges via a crafted application. The exploitation of this issue may enable a remote attacker to elevate their privileges using a specially crafted application.
Recommendations
For Android 6.0.1 before 2016-03-01, consider restricting access to the MediaTek Wi-Fi kernel driver as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Additionally, avoid using crafted applications that could exploit this issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
