CVE-2016-1651

CVSS v3.1

8.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 50.0.2661.75 Opera (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the incorrect implementation of the sycc420 to rgb and sycc422 to rgb functions in the fxcodec/codec/fx codec jpx opj.cpp component of PDFium, used in Google Chrome. This allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information from process memory or cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via crafted JPEG 2000 data in a PDF document.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 50.0.2661.75, update to version 50.0.2661.75 or later to resolve the issue. For Opera, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of crafted JPEG 2000 data in PDF documents to minimize the risk of exploitation.
