VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.28 and earlier Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.10 and earlier
Description The issue is related to errors in the code of the MySQL database management system. It can be exploited by a remote attacker to disrupt availability by affecting the server. The vulnerability allows a local user to affect availability via vectors related to Options. Successful attacks can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.28 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.28 to resolve the issue. For Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.10 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.7.10 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Options component of the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
