Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.10 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to errors in the code of the MySQL database management system. It can be exploited by a remote attacker to affect availability by impacting the FTS server. The vulnerability allows a high-privileged attacker with network access to compromise the MySQL Server, resulting in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.10 and earlier, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the FTS server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
