| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
SolarWinds Virtualization Manager versions 6.3.1 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to the RMI component of the SolarWinds Virtualization Manager, which is vulnerable to deserialization of untrusted data. This can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially crafted serialized Java object, potentially allowing the execution of arbitrary commands. The vulnerability is related to the Apache Commons Collections (ACC) library.
Recommendations
For SolarWinds Virtualization Manager versions 6.3.1 and earlier, consider disabling the RMI service as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the RMI component to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the vulnerable RMI service in the affected SolarWinds Virtualization Manager versions until the issue is resolved.
