CVE-2016-1182

CVSS v3.1

8.2

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Apache Struts versions 1.x through 1.3.10
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the ActionServlet.java file of Apache Struts, allowing remote attackers to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks or cause a denial of service via crafted input. This can enable attackers to execute malicious scripts or disrupt service.
Recommendations For versions 1.x through 1.3.10, consider restricting the Validator configuration to prevent exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the ActionServlet.java file to minimize the risk of XSS attacks or denial of service. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
