Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow and improper access to objects in memory, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via a specially crafted web page. This could corrupt memory, enabling the attacker to execute code in the context of the current user. If the user has administrative rights, the attacker could take control of the system, install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Internet Explorer, update to a version that is not affected by this issue.
For Microsoft Edge, update to a version that is not affected by this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to potentially vulnerable web pages until a patch is available.
Avoid using the affected browsers to access untrusted web pages until the issue is resolved.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
