Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android versions prior to 2016-08-05
Description
The issue is related to insufficient validation of input parameters in the arch/arm/mach-msm/qdsp6v2/ultrasound/usf.c file of the Qualcomm components in Android. This allows attackers to obtain sensitive information via a crafted application.
Recommendations
For Android versions prior to 2016-08-05, update to a version released after 2016-08-05 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the
usf.c file or related components until a patch is available. Avoid using crafted applications that could exploit this issue until the update is applied.Fix
