Description
The issue is related to a control associated with a codec, where type casting is performed to the container structure instead of the codec's individual structure when issued from userspace. This results in a device restart after a kernel crash occurs. The vulnerability is also associated with inadequate access control in a mobile application for the Android operating system, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a device restart after a kernel crash.
