Description The issue is related to a buffer over-read in the phar parse pharfile function in ext/phar/phar.c, which can be exploited by supplying malicious archive files. This could potentially lead to a crash of the PHP interpreter or disclosure of information. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially crafted archive.
Recommendations For PHP versions prior to 5.6.30, update to version 5.6.30 or later. For PHP versions 7.x prior to 7.0.15, update to version 7.0.15 or later.
