CVE-2016-2148

CVSS v3.1

9.8

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions BusyBox versions prior to 1.25.0
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in the DHCP client (udhcpc) of BusyBox, which can be exploited by remote attackers via vectors involving OPTION 6RD parsing. This can allow an attacker to access confidential data, compromise data integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.25.0, update to version 1.25.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the DHCP client (udhcpc) until a patch is applied.
