Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Claws Mail version 3.13.1
Description
A stack-based buffer overflow issue exists in the conv euctojis function in codeconv.c, allowing remote attackers to have an unspecified impact via a crafted email. This issue involves Japanese character set conversion and is a result of an incomplete fix for a previous issue.
Recommendations
For Claws Mail version 3.13.1, consider disabling the conv euctojis function in codeconv.c as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to emails that may trigger the Japanese character set conversion to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
