Description
The issue is related to the trace writeback dirty page implementation in the Linux kernel, which improperly interacts with mm/migrate.c. This can be exploited by local users to cause a denial of service, resulting in a NULL pointer dereference and system crash, or possibly have other unspecified impacts by triggering a certain page move.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 4.4, update to version 4.4 or later to resolve the issue.
