CVE-2016-3624

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions LibTIFF versions 4.0.6 and earlier
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by setting the -v option to -1, resulting in an out-of-bounds write. This is related to the cvtClump function in the rgb2ycbcr tool.
Recommendations For LibTIFF versions 4.0.6 and earlier, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the cvtClump function in the rgb2ycbcr tool until a patch is available. Avoid using the -v option with a value of -1 in the affected tool to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
