CVE-2016-4580

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 4.5.5
Description The issue is related to the x25 negotiate facilities function in the Linux kernel, which does not properly initialize a certain data structure. This allows attackers to obtain sensitive information from kernel stack memory via an X.25 Call Request.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 4.5.5, update to version 4.5.5 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to X.25 Call Request functionality until a patch is applied.
