Description The issue allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse DLL in the current working directory, due to an untrusted search path vulnerability in the HGFS feature.
Recommendations For VMware ESXi versions 5.0 through 6.0, update to a version outside of the affected range. For VMware Tools version 10.0.5, update to a version outside of the affected range. For VMware Workstation Pro versions 12.1.x before 12.1.1, update to version 12.1.1 or later. For VMware Workstation Player versions 12.1.x before 12.1.1, update to version 12.1.1 or later. For VMware Fusion versions 8.1.x before 8.1.1, update to version 8.1.1 or later.
