CVE-2016-6261

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions libidn versions prior to 1.33
Description The issue allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an out-of-bounds read and crash, via 64 bytes of input. This is due to a problem in the idna to ascii 4i function in lib/idna.c.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.33, update to version 1.33 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting input to prevent the 64 bytes of input that can cause the denial of service.
