Description
A vulnerability in the IP Detail Record (IPDR) code could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an affected system to reload. The vulnerability is due to improper handling of IPDR packets. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted IPDR packets to an affected system. A successful exploit could cause the device to reload, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition.
Recommendations
For Cisco IOS version 12.2, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For Cisco IOS XE versions 3.14 through 3.16 and 16.1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
