| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Pivotal Greenplum versions prior to 4.3.10.0
Description
An issue in Pivotal Greenplum allows arbitrary commands to be injected into the system through the creation of external tables using the GPHDFS protocol. This can be exploited by a user with 'gpadmin' superuser access or by those granted GPHDFS protocol permissions to create a GPHDFS external table.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 4.3.10.0, update to version 4.3.10.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the GPHDFS protocol and limiting the creation of external tables to trusted users.
Fix
