CVE-2016-6828

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 4.7.5
Description The issue is related to the tcp check send head function in the Linux kernel, which does not properly maintain certain SACK state after a failed data copy. This allows local users to cause a denial of service, resulting in a tcp xmit retransmit queue use-after-free and system crash, via a crafted SACK option.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 4.7.5, update to version 4.7.5 or later to resolve the issue.
