CVE-2016-7908

CVSS v3.1

4.4

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions QEMU (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue arises from the mcf fec do tx function in hw/net/mcf fec.c, which fails to properly limit the buffer descriptor count when transmitting packets. This allows local guest OS administrators to cause a denial of service, resulting in an infinite loop and a QEMU process crash. The denial of service can be triggered via vectors involving a buffer descriptor with a length of 0 and crafted values in bd.flags.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
