Description The issue is related to a Heap Buffer Over-read in the imagetotga function of convert.c(jp2) at line 942. This can lead to a Denial of Service when a crafted j2k file is opened.
Recommendations For OpenJPEG version 2.1.2, as a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of the imagetotga function in convert.c(jp2) until a patch is available. Restrict access to crafted j2k files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
