Description
The issue arises from improper handling of NetBIOS packets, leading to a denial of service. This allows attackers to affect the system.
Recommendations
For Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For Windows 7 SP1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For Windows 8.1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For Windows Server 2012 Gold and R2, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For Windows RT 8.1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For Windows 10 versions 1511, 1607, 1703, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.

As a temporary workaround, consider restricting NetBIOS packet handling until a patch is available.
