CVSS v3.1

8.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Java SE version 8u131
Description The issue allows a low-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, resulting in unauthorized creation, deletion, or modification access to critical data or all Java SE accessible data, as well as unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Java SE accessible data. This can be exploited through sandboxed Java Web Start applications and sandboxed Java applets, or by supplying data to APIs in the specified component without using sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, such as through a web service.
Recommendations For Java SE version 8u131, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Scripting subcomponent until a patch is available. Avoid using sandboxed Java Web Start applications and sandboxed Java applets until the issue is resolved. Restrict access to APIs in the specified component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
