VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Java SE versions 6u151, 7u141, 8u131 Java SE Embedded version 8u131 JRockit version R28.3.14
Description The issue allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit, resulting in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service. This can be exploited through sandboxed Java Web Start applications and sandboxed Java applets, or by supplying data to APIs in the specified component without using sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, such as through a web service.
Recommendations For Java SE versions 6u151, 7u141, 8u131, consider disabling the Serialization component until a patch is available. For Java SE Embedded version 8u131, restrict access to the Serialization component to minimize the risk of exploitation. For JRockit version R28.3.14, avoid using the JAX-WS component in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
