Description
The issue allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit, resulting in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service. This issue applies to Java deployments that load and run untrusted code and rely on the Java sandbox for security, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets. It does not apply to Java deployments that load and run only trusted code, typically in servers.
Recommendations
For Java SE versions 6u151, 7u141, 8u131, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue.
For Java SE Embedded version 8u131, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue.
For JRockit version R28.3.14, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the Serialization component in Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit to minimize the risk of exploitation.
