VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Java SE versions 7u141 and 8u131 Java SE Embedded version 8u131 JRockit version R28.3.14
Description The issue allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit, resulting in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all accessible data. This can be exploited through sandboxed Java Web Start applications and sandboxed Java applets, or by supplying data to APIs in the specified component without using sandboxed applications or applets, such as through a web service.
Recommendations For Java SE version 7u141, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue. For Java SE version 8u131, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue. For Java SE Embedded version 8u131, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue. For JRockit version R28.3.14, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the JCE component until a patch is available. Avoid using sandboxed Java Web Start applications and sandboxed Java applets until the issue is resolved.
