Description A buffer overread issue is observed when a user space application sends the NL80211 ATTR LOCAL MESH POWER MODE attribute with data of size less than 4 bytes to the nl80211 set station function. This issue affects devices using the Linux kernel.
Recommendations For Android for MSM, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue. For Firefox OS for MSM, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue. For QRD Android, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue. For all Android releases from CAF using the Linux kernel, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the NL80211 ATTR LOCAL MESH POWER MODE attribute in user space applications until a patch is available.
