Description
The issue is caused by a heap buffer overflow when parsing TIFF image files, which could lead to arbitrary code execution. This allows a remote attacker to execute code by exploiting the vulnerability in the programs.
Recommendations
For Adobe Acrobat versions prior to 15.020.20042, update to a version later than 15.020.20042.
For Adobe Acrobat Reader versions prior to 15.020.20042, update to a version later than 15.020.20042.
For Adobe Acrobat versions 11.0.18 and earlier, update to a version later than 11.0.18.
For Adobe Reader versions 15.006.30244 and earlier, update to a version later than 15.006.30244.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of TIFF image files in Adobe Acrobat and Reader until a patch is available.
