Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Pulse Connect Secure version 8.3R1
Description
The issue concerns a Reflected XSS in the launchHelp.cgi component. Specifically, the
helpLaunchPage parameter is reflected in an IFRAME element. If the value of this parameter contains two quotes, it can be exploited. Although the system properly sanitizes quotes and tags, an attacker can still abuse this by using javascript: or data: protocols.Recommendations
For Pulse Connect Secure version 8.3R1, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the launchHelp.cgi component until a patch is available. Avoid using the
helpLaunchPage parameter in the affected IFRAME element until the issue is resolved.Fix
