CVE-2017-11335

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions LibTIFF version 4.0.8
Description A heap-based buffer overflow issue exists in the tools/tiff2pdf.c file of LibTIFF, specifically when handling a PlanarConfig=Contig image. This can cause an out-of-bounds write of more than one hundred bytes, related to the ZIPDecode function in tif zip.c. A crafted input may lead to a remote denial of service attack or an arbitrary code execution attack.
Recommendations For LibTIFF version 4.0.8, consider applying a patch or fix that addresses the heap-based buffer overflow issue in the tools/tiff2pdf.c file to prevent potential remote denial of service or arbitrary code execution attacks. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
