CVE-2016-10010

CVSS v3.1

7.0

High

VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenSSH versions prior to 7.4
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the sshd cryptographic protection tool of OpenSSH. Exploitation of this issue may allow a local attacker to elevate privileges using unspecified vectors related to serverloop.c, enabling the creation of transferable Unix-domain sockets as a superuser.
Recommendations For versions prior to 7.4, consider disabling the privilege separation feature as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the serverloop.c functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
