CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ImageMagick versions 7.0.6 through 7.0.8
Description A memory leak issue was discovered in the ReadMIFFImage function, allowing attackers to cause a denial of service by consuming memory via a crafted file. This issue affects the NewLinkedList function in MagickCore/linked-list.c.
Recommendations For ImageMagick versions 7.0.6 through 7.0.8, consider updating to a newer version to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of the ReadMIFFImage function in coders/miff.c to minimize the risk of exploitation.
