Description An issue was discovered where the password encryption method can be retrieved from the firmware. The encryption method is based on a chall value sent in cleartext as a POST parameter. This could allow an attacker to reverse the password encryption algorithm and retrieve the password.
Recommendations For MOXA EDS-G512E version 5.1 build 16072215, consider restricting access to the firmware and the POST parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
