CVE-2017-16818

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Ceph versions 12.1.0 through 12.2.1
Description The issue allows remote authenticated users with "full" privileges to cause a denial of service by posting an invalid profile to the admin API. This is related to files rgw/rgw iam policy.cc, rgw/rgw basic types.h, and rgw/rgw iam types.h.
Recommendations For versions 12.1.0 through 12.2.1, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the admin API to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the admin API to post invalid profiles until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
