CVE-2017-16837

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions tboot versions prior to 1.9.7
Description The issue concerns the validation of certain function pointers in tboot, which can lead to arbitrary code execution. This allows local users to overwrite dynamic PCRs of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) by hooking these function pointers.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.9.7, update to version 1.9.7 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the function pointers in question to minimize the risk of exploitation.
