High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Microsoft Edge (affected versions not specified)
Microsoft browsers (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to insufficient access restrictions to certain functions in Microsoft browsers, which could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user. This could potentially lead to memory corruption, enabling the attacker to take control of the affected system if the current user has administrative rights. The attacker could then install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Edge, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
For Microsoft browsers, consider restricting access to sensitive features and functions until a patch is available.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling scripting engines in Microsoft browsers to minimize the risk of exploitation.
