Description
The issue is related to a DCOM object in Helppane.exe, which allows local users to gain privileges via a crafted application. It is associated with weaknesses in the authentication procedure. This can enable a local attacker to elevate their privileges using a specially crafted application.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 Gold and R2, Windows RT 8.1, Windows 10 Gold, 1511, and 1607, and Windows Server 2016, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
