CVE-2016-10055

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ImageMagick versions prior to 6.9.5-8
Description The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in the WritePDBImage function in coders/pdb.c, allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or have other unspecified impact via a crafted file. This can be exploited by an attacker to disrupt service.
Recommendations For versions prior to 6.9.5-8, update to version 6.9.5-8 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the WritePDBImage function in coders/pdb.c to minimize the risk of exploitation.
