Description A heap overflow issue exists in the gdk pixbuf jpeg image load increment functionality, allowing remote code execution through a specially crafted jpeg file. An attacker can trigger this issue by sending a malicious file or URL.
Recommendations For version 2.36.6, consider avoiding the use of the gdk pixbuf jpeg image load increment functionality until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the handling of jpeg files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
