Description
A difficult to exploit vulnerability in the Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit component of Oracle Java SE allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via FTP to compromise Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit accessible data. This vulnerability applies to client and server deployment of Java and can be exploited through sandboxed Java Web Start applications, sandboxed Java applets, or by supplying data to APIs in the specified component without using sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, such as through a web service.
Recommendations
For Java SE versions 6u141, 7u131, and 8u121, update to a newer version to mitigate the risk.
For Java SE Embedded version 8u121, update to a newer version to mitigate the risk.
For JRockit version R28.3.13, update to a newer version to mitigate the risk.
