| Vector | AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.36 and earlier
Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.18 and earlier
Description
The issue allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via Memcached to compromise the MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server, as well as unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of the MySQL Server's accessible data.
Recommendations
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.36 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.36 to resolve the issue.
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.18 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.7.18 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Memcached component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
