Description The issue allows guest OS users to obtain sensitive information from the host OS memory via a crafted application. It is related to the lack of protection for service data in the Hyper-V virtualization system. Exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to obtain confidential information using a specially crafted application.

For Microsoft Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue. For Microsoft Windows 7 SP1, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue. For Microsoft Windows 8.1, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue. For Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Gold and R2, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue. For Microsoft Windows 10 Gold, 1511, and 1607, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue. For Microsoft Windows Server 2016, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to sensitive information in the host OS memory until a patch is available.
