CVE-2017-5200

CVSS v2.0

9.0

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions SaltStack Salt versions 2015.8.13 and earlier, 2016.3.x before 2016.3.5, and 2016.11.x before 2016.11.2
Description The issue allows arbitrary command execution on a salt-master via Salt's ssh client. Users of Salt-API and salt-ssh could execute a command on the salt master via a hole when both systems were enabled.
Recommendations For versions 2015.8.13 and earlier, update to version 2015.8.13 or later. For versions 2016.3.x before 2016.3.5, update to version 2016.3.5 or later. For versions 2016.11.x before 2016.11.2, update to version 2016.11.2 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the Salt's ssh client until a patch is available. Restrict access to the Salt-API and salt-ssh to minimize the risk of exploitation.
