CVE-2017-6209

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions virglrenderer versions prior to 0.6.0
Description The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the parse identifier function, located in the tgsi text.c file within the TGSI auxiliary module of the Gallium driver in virglrenderer. This overflow allows local guest OS users to cause a denial of service by accessing an array out of its bounds, leading to a crash of the QEMU process. The vulnerability is related to vectors associated with parsing properties.
Recommendations For versions prior to 0.6.0, update to version 0.6.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the parse identifier function in the tgsi text.c file until a patch is available.
