| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Kaltura server version Lynx-12.11.0
Description
The issue is caused by insufficient filtration of user-supplied data passed to specific URLs, including "admin console/web/tools/SimpleJWPlayer.php", "admin console/web/tools/AkamaiBroadcaster.php", "admin console/web/tools/bigRedButton.php", and "admin console/web/tools/bigRedButtonPtsPoc.php". This allows an attacker to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a browser in the context of the vulnerable website.
Recommendations
For Kaltura server version Lynx-12.11.0, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable URLs, specifically "admin console/web/tools/SimpleJWPlayer.php", "admin console/web/tools/AkamaiBroadcaster.php", "admin console/web/tools/bigRedButton.php", and "admin console/web/tools/bigRedButtonPtsPoc.php", until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
