CVE-2017-7290

CVSS v3.1

7.2

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions XOOPS versions prior to 2.5.8.1
Description The issue allows remote authenticated administrators to execute arbitrary SQL commands. This can be achieved via the url parameter to the "findusers.php" endpoint. An example attack uses "into outfile" to create a backdoor program.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.5.8.1, update to version 2.5.8.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "findusers.php" endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the url parameter in the affected endpoint until the issue is resolved.
